Dr. Ebo Afful - Executive Dean, Academics

Dr. Ebo Afful is a respected scholar and higher education leader whose work has played a significant role in shaping media and communication education in Ghana.

He holds a PhD from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom and has built an academic career defined by innovation in programme development and institutional leadership. At the Ghana Institute of Journalism, now the University of Media, Arts and Communication, Dr. Afful helped design and introduce several landmark programmes, including Ghana’s first Master’s degrees in Journalism and Media Management, as well as the PhD in Media and Communication Studies. This doctoral programme was particularly notable for integrating teaching excellence with university management training.

Dr. Afful has held senior academic and leadership roles across several institutions, including Vice Rector at Academic City University and teaching positions at GIMPA and the Ghana Institute of Journalism. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to advancing rigorous scholarship while ensuring that academic programmes remain relevant to evolving industry needs.

As Executive Dean of Rosebank International University College, Dr. Afful is leading the development of a vibrant academic environment focused on preparing graduates who are knowledgeable, industry-ready, and guided by strong ethical values. His vision centres on producing professionals who not only excel in their fields but also contribute positively to society.
