
Dr. Kojo Ackaah-Kwarteng - Head of Programme, Faculty of Commerce
Dr. Kojo Ackaah-Kwarteng is an accomplished marketing strategist, educator, and media professional whose career spans academia, broadcasting, and corporate communications.
He holds a PhD in Marketing and Strategy from the CASS European Institute of Management in France and an MBA in Marketing and General Management from the Hochschule für Angewandtes Management (University of Applied Management) in Germany. He also pursued postgraduate studies in Organizational Development at the University of Cape Coast after completing his undergraduate education at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (now UniMAC).
Before transitioning into academia in 2014, Dr. Ackaah-Kwarteng built a distinguished career in the media and communications industry. Beginning as a journalist and broadcaster at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), he received international training at Deutsche Welle’s Training Academy in Germany and the BBC, along with professional attachments in the United States.
Over the course of more than three decades, he has held several senior management roles in media organizations, including General Manager, Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Director of radio and television stations. He has also served on multiple industry boards and held leadership positions in professional bodies such as the Institute of Public Relations Ghana and the Advertising Association of Ghana.
Today, as Head of Programme for the Faculty of Commerce at RIUC, Dr. Ackaah-Kwarteng brings together academic rigor and industry experience to prepare students for leadership in marketing, communications, and business.
