Mr. Peter Anafo - Librarian / Information Specialist

Mr. Peter Anafo is a highly respected academic librarian and information specialist with more than three decades of experience supporting research, teaching, and knowledge management in higher education.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Library Studies at the University of South Africa and holds a Master’s degree in Library Studies as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Information Studies with Psychology from the University of Ghana.

Throughout his career, Mr. Anafo has held senior library leadership roles across several universities in Ghana, including the University of Mines and Technology, Ashesi University College, Regent University College, and Kings University College. His work has focused on building modern academic library systems that support research, digital access, and student learning.

Beyond institutional leadership, he has contributed extensively to professional scholarship. Mr. Anafo has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed publications on information literacy, digital collections, ICT infrastructure, and academic library services. He is also a frequent presenter on topics including e-resources, research support, scholarly communication, and Sustainable Development Goal 4.

A passionate advocate for knowledge access, Mr. Anafo has helped establish more than ten academic and community libraries across Ghana and founded the “Friends of Libraries in Ghana” advocacy initiative.
